The name of our denomination comes from Jesus, who lived in a town called Nazareth. The Church of the Nazarene officially formed almost one hundred years ago, with an emphasis on allowing God to help us become more like Christ. Salt Lake City First Church of the Nazarene formed in 1903, even before the official start of the denomination, and has been sharing Christ throughout the Salt Lake Valley ever since.
